Beavis31, you are claiming that complete strangers are being rude if they do not satisfy your desire to receive replies to your unsolicited messages.

What is wrong with this picture?

I don't trust "nice" especially in an open forum. That's not to say be mean, just be honest. Most people consider me rude and mean. I just say what is obvious to me, and very few can handle it

the OP needs to learn that he cannot control others responses. no response IS a response, particularly in the online format as leigh alluded to earlier

On the other hand, it's arguably not "unsolicited mail" when you advertise yourself on a dating site, especially when they write something like, "Message me" on their profiles.

Nah, it's not really the same thing as getting junk mail through your door or annoying cold callers phoning you. It's more that you just don't really give a crap if they think that you're rude. It's not like you're going to get a reputation for being an ignorant bastard because you ignore people on the internet.

let's play this out as if it was in real-life

Guy shouts from across the bar "Hey pretty lady!" of some other phrase, the woman turns around looks at him, decides she's not interested in turns back around and chat's with her friend...

But apparently that is rude, maybe she should have got up, walked over to the guy, and said "sorry, i'm not interested but thank you for the compliment"-not very realistic.

No response is a response.

I don't always respond. I am not by any means rude. I feel it would be rude of me to respond and say no thank you. Personally I would rather hear nothing than a flat out rejection. I (being the not rude person I tend to be) responded to someone I wasn't interested in. Not the first time he messaged me, but the second. He now will not leave me alone. I feel like I am eventually going to have to be a flat out b*tch and that is not in my nature. I knew from viewing his profile he was not right for me, and the more he messages me the more I realize I was right.

Why is is that people dont respond to a polite email. I reply even to say thank you but im not looking for a man :-) I find it incredible rude not to reply to a non spam non offensive email. They open it than check out my profile than thats it. Am i worng?

If a nice, friendly email didn't warrant someone taking a minute out of their lives to respond with a simple,"Thanks for the email. I wish you all the best.", I'd consider myself very fortunate I didn't get hooked up with that type of person.

I hear that.
It would mean maybe waste a couple bucks buying a gal a drink and never getting, well, ya know.

I drink alone.

Not wrong just unrealistic...
If you get 75 emials saying " Hi" in 1 hour, would you seriously respond to each one?

No response, is an answer. you may not like it... but I'd take it as a polite one and move on.

I don't respond to all the emails I get. Some of them I can't even understand. I think they are trying to write in English but I don't have a magic decoder ring to figure them out whoa
