Only if one learns to deal with it realize you can't change it and take the steps on moving forward....

Yes.
But only if we accept it.

you can't escape it or out run it. you have to deal with it, come to terms with it, own it, and finally, leave it where it belongs...in the past.

As is history.

Can never be erased.

A wise dude once said, "We carry the sins of our fathers."

That's not saying we committed those errors.

How I take it, we should live our lives to not repeat them.

I didn't listen to my ancestors.

I lusted and did a lot of shagging the scrubbers.

That's how I found out I was allergic to shag rugs and thick pelucha.

Sure, but why would we want too?

Our lives are the sum total of our pasts, whether good or bad we learn and move on. If our pasts come back to haunt, aggravate, or get back with us that's on the part of those who won't let go.

Life's too short and the future's to full of what's coming next to always be worrying about things we can't change but can remove ourselves from.

Of course this is just my world wizened opinion but I hope it helps... flowerforyou

If the past is disturbing u,then the question arise that if we can escape,i think we have the great power,we can live easily in any condition.

No...Kind of set in stone, yeah?

All you have from today, is tomorrow.

You think you can, in truth, it's always just hiding under your bed. Waiting for you to dangle your feet at the edge of your bed, so it can grab your ankles when you least expect it. And you'll scream with all your might as it pulls you under, into that thick, dark abyss.

But it's too late.

i believe you should leave the past behind , whether good or bad .. just don't look behind , and concentrate on your present and future

Sometimes my past sneaks up and bites me in the azz! It's still behind me tho...so I just pick up the pace a little and move on.

The past is history
Tomorrow a mystery
And today a gift :-)

And that's why they call it ...the present

Kind of depends what your past is and how most people react to it.

Someone is a registered sex offender and people find out about it then it is not going to be real good for the present or future relationship with most people.

Now someone who gets in trouble mooning another teenager as a teenager in some cultures that gets you stoned others only a chuckle. Time location and cultural norms tend to change over time.

I tend to agree with the dealing with your own past is important. If you have a crappy childhood and then let it ruin your adult life forever Amen I think you have to own how much of your own life you feed the beast. I am not saying al things are unforgiveable but at some point just moving own is a gift to yourself not necessarily and endorsement of what someone did or got away with.

I think intent has to factor in too. If a person harms another because they are young and dumb and learns to be more responsible then I would give some grace.

The past shapes the choices we make toward who we become. It can keep is imprisoned if we don't learn how to deal with the hurtful things or it can compel us toward something better.

The past is what makes us who we are today. the only way to truly learn from our past is to make a concerned effort to change who we are today. so yes, we can learn from our past.
