I've been on here for over 2 years and it just makes laugh at the stupidity that "most" members in the forums put there to impress the opposite sex to them! Like- name brand expensive clothing,shoes,cars,boats, etc,etc,brag,brag brag!! Really who cares i don't!! And if that is what it takes i'm happy not to be dating anyone on here! Who are you or who the hell am i anyhow? Just another person searching to possibly find a partner with values as ourselves other than where we live by utilizing the internet and a dating site!! If a person does not see you or who you are they are materialistic anyway and is looking for Gold "not you"!! Even Frankenstine could be dressed in gold- wear diamonds and be a selfcentered A- hole and attract most on here!! Point is just be yourself and have "one less lie" to live down! Without another problem to get rid of later!Alone isn't so bad as long as you can tolerate yourself!! Good luck!  One thing i have found out is if you put the Truth on here either you will be ignored or criticized by most ,very little complimenting going on? Or it will rub a member the wrong way and taken out of context of original meaning?

Well, I'm an open book and I dare say that I put a lot of people off by giving them too much information and honesty but f**k them. I don't really care. There was some woman on here with nothing on her profile apart from some claim about being a very talkative person and a request that people that contact her choose the subject. I picked music and asked her what she was into. She said that she liked anything apart from rock and I replied that I like rock and that I don't really like rap or hip hop. That was the end of that and I didn't try to twist it by downplaying the fact that I like what she hates.

However the Forums allow us to see others beyond that first impression which can only be a good thing in my opinion. There are so many people on here with a good sense of humour it's good to be able to read the posts and comments and to add a few of my own. |

I think first impressions can be misleading. I'm a straightforward person but like Graywolf said, there are a lot of people who spruce up and try to impress. In the physical appearance sense that's not so bad. But in the character sense, a wolf dressed in sheep clothing can be devastating because by the time you see them for what they are they've already gotten into your heart.

No one can learn all about a person by a first impression. Sadly, not everyone turns out to be who we think they are and sometimes we don't find out soon enough and get hurt, thankfully not everyone is like that. A first impression should not be a deception but a promotion of you at your best.

I believe as i have found out in the past, never put your best foot fowards(there may be a bear trap to cut it off) and if you present yourself with all the ribbons and bows( then what will you surprise them with later?) One day at a time! I like my jeans,nice shirt,western boots or moccisins,leather vest,buckskin coat,of course hat(baseball or western)! I think i was born in the wrong century because long ago a truckdriver was known as a muleskinner! Seriously at 59 my old butt still looks good in jeans! First impressions are good if honesty is involved to go along with it! I will just be myself nothing more! If the only thing i steal is your (Heart) then it will be safe and Cherished! Besides what is it you want? A Man-or a whatever in a Monkeysuit?
