I know this may be a little early, but if it's posted now, then more people will get to know about it, and will not need to be on their own.

I have decided to organise a Christmas Party for those of us who fimd themselves in that situation at Christmas.

So, if like me, you're likely to be on your own over the festive season, then please feel free to attend. drinker flowerforyou glasses

Food and drinks will be provided as the following menus show.




Christmas Eve Dinner

Pan fried scallops, pickled pears, roasted ceps and walnuts

Due of foie gras, bavarois and carpaccio, celery and apple salad

Roast fillet of seabass, butternut squash, almond puree, chorizo and sweet
and sour ruby endive

Fillet of Yorkshire venison, smoked artichoke puree, mushroom pain perdu and pickled red cabbage

Apple tatin, Christmas pudding parfait, calvados crème and cranberries

Petit fours and coffee




Christmas Eve Dinner

Marbled terrine of foie gras, sauterne jelly and brioche

Pan fried crab cake, roast lobster, Asian cress salad and mustard dressing

Traditional roast turkey, chipolatas, bacon rolls, vegetables
and cranberry sauce

Tartar of fresh and smoked salmon, crème fraiche caviar, poached langoustine and antiboise sauce

Roast Alaskan black cod marinated in miso with lemon and Japanese ginger

Roast black feathered turkey, chipolatas, bacon rolls, chestnut stuffing,
traditional roast vegetables and garnish
Or
Fillet of beef Wellington, nage of winter vegetables, glazed salsify carrots
and potatoes, truffle sauce

Traditional Christmas pudding, brandy sabayon,
date and Armagnac ice cream

Boxing Day and New Year's Day Brunch

Selection of Sushi, Nori and Nigiri, soy sauce, wasabi and
ginger (Boxing Day)

Steamed and fried selection of Dim Sum, Soy sauce,
garlic and chilli tomato (New Year's Day)

Selection of Sashimi either mixed
Salmon, Seabass or Tuna

Crispy Peking duck spring roll, cucumber, spring onions
and plum sauce

Fried soft shell crab, wasabi tempura, mayonnaise

Smoked salmon naan bread, confit onions and cream cheese, aged
balsamic and rocket

English breakfast with fried bacon, mini steak, egg, sausages, black pudding and mushrooms

Pan fried calves liver, streaky bacon, creamed potatoes, cabbage,
red wine shallot sauce

Poached egg Benedict, wood grilled ham, English muffin, asparagus
and hollandaise sauce

Surf and turf, classic steak, buttered spinach, roast lobster,

I tried going out with singles, and ended up being the only sitting alone at midnight...........you know those ladies who work the restroom handing out towels and so on are really nice to talk to :smile:

AWWW ((((Snuggles))))) I know what you're saying. I've tried the singles more so after my son passed away. That's when you feel even more lonely when there is a room full of people (especially couples). That's why I don't even bother anymore.
