I'm not a fan of people just repeating themselves over and over. If it has a good beat, actual lyrics that make sense, and not just a repeating chorus, chances are I might get into it. It isn't just Hip Hop I feel this way about, that also goes for the demonic top pop 40 type crap music also.


Most songs have some sort of chorus and therefore repetition. Music started with the drum, every good band needs a drummer, then a bassist. Rap is to the beats love songs have a melody. Rap came from the purest sense of music a beat. It's not to everybody's taste but it definitely is an art just like any other genre of music. Old school and new school rap is just stories to a beat

I don't really think most people do. I think most people under 30, at least, are pretty into it and it is being seen in collaborations with everything from pop artists to country artists.
