Creative destruction, introduced in 1942 by the economist Joseph Schumpeter, describes the process of transformation that accompanies radical innovation. In Schumpeter's vision of capitalism, innovative entry by entrepreneurs was the force that sustained long-term economic growth, even as it destroyed the value of established companies that enjoyed some degree of monopoly power.

Now the question is: do u think that the same theory can be applied to the different species or even to us as humans?

This isn't terribly different from Darwin and Wallace's insights in species evolution. The fundamental difference is that the paces are orders of magnitude apart.

I would add that it is almost inevitable that people via biochemical intervention, genetic engineering, and biomedical engineering will continue to institute disruptive paths in their own development as well as that of other species.

Surely society has changed since 1942.

my question is in reference to the fact, are we as human being able to eliminate or destroy another group of human beings in order to prevail as a class?
for instance, some fundamentalist muslim would be happy to kill all christians (just to start) so their religion prevail.

NOTE: i used the word SOME, please read it as it is.

Absolutely.

Would argue that the Catholic church or even its body is the same entity or class that it was prior to 1517? That's been destroyed and replaced by the new Catholic church along with a wide range of long lasting christian churches.

i agree with u. I'm a catholic, but i recongize that my church at some point when they acquired power through the kings of Europe lost focus.
The mission of the Church is expand the message of Love brought by The Lord. But in those dark ages we were using the force against to anybody whom did not believe in the same as us. SAme on us.
We were trying to destroy humans whom believe different. That is a stain for which we will becriticize forever.
However, since the 20th century the Church has been trying to change its image.
Now lately through the wrong-doing of some priests specially here in the USA, we are going down again.
The important thing is to recognize that those who commit such attrocities are few number within a universe of well-doers.

The concept of creative-destruction is a very natural one to me- a fire razing a forest may rend weakening or dying land fertile again- but I don't know that we, as humans, should CHOOSE what to destroy to create.

As to the question, we, as humans, certainly think (in some groups, a generalization here) that we have the right to destroy each other to advance our ideas and classes. My personal philosophy makes me shudder at such acts that are committed when extreme groups commit genocide and mindlessly destroy for their cause- I'm a very "go with the flow" type person- which I feel lends itself into the natural cycle of destruction/creation...
