old sage has a really good point to ,,very important consideration ,,
business / cost / profit ... any thing that loses you revenue , should be considered a very serious matter ... an employee should have pride is in his work , not be careless and bein sneaky an tryin to fix it without tellin you !! OMG !! and when the customer notices then what??!! ,,sorry buddy but ,I'd fire the guy , |

I think you should fire him. When he makes careless mistakes like that it effects everyone. The customer is mad, you lose money which means the money can not be put back in to the business to pay employees, buy better matrials ect. If you feel bad about it offer to keep him till the end of next week to give him time to plan.

Dad owned a business & I have ran shops for others, before I had mine. Firing people happens, in this type business carelessness is expensive & can cost lives. Best lesson is a firing, has to be accountable for what he did. He won't pay the bill.

i still say a tube sock with a brick should do the trick.

When you fire him remind him how fortunate he is to be alive.
