I agree. I feel those who constantly complain, and are on the defensive regarding the other gender in topics like these are actually quite young with very little relationship experience.

Just because one woman or man you met did not seem to hold up their end doesn't mean it will be like that with the next. maybe they weren't really that interested in the relationship, maybe one just didn't notice what the other was doing for them.

To really experience a lack of appreciation in the context of a relationship, takes a long term monogamous relationship though...in order to understand how it affects a relationship.

It's totally different than when the man/woman you've dated for a month he/she forgot to call last Saturday....but I will say those who have been unappreciated will recognize the small signs like this right away and call it quits ASAP

No one wants their significant other to get bored with them. So both should be conscious of each other. It really doesn't matter so much of who's role is which.
