( Lifes Quilt )
Long ago in times of the Past,
We wrote down Our History on things that would last.
This Quilt is long or short,who can tell?
But the memory is embedded in the patterns,,Clear as a Bell."
It tells of happy or sorrow as each Year,of time that's past,
Light colors or dark-whatever Life would cast.
A Love you meet,a child that was born,
A Person you meet,A Relationship torn.
Hopefully all Bright patterns there,
No Holes or Tears as your Memory You Share!
So lets ALL keep trying-be as bright as can be,
As "YOU" make your Quilt-- Your Memory Tree !!!

My life's quilt is almost done
As I reach the twilight of my time
Full of colorful pieces of days gone by
A few pieces remaining before I say goodbye.

Graywolf...This poem made me cry...I have my granny's quilt...Mama is 90, so you do the math...The quilt is delicate, it is very old...Mama likes to point to different material used in the quilt pattern and tell me the story behind it...A dress for Sunday school, a curtain for the kitchen...Thank you for this beautiful piece and the memories it brought to me as I was reading...

I'm sorry for your tears it was just my intentions for people to think of their path in lifes journey. Only you sew these pieces and allow what has happened to you (past,present, future) and your memories!! I have these Quilts 7 generation in a Old Cedar chest,also 7 generations old. My Daughter has them now. Hopefully she adds one,it skipped me.Thank you all again for your kindness!!
