It's true that Africans get a bit of a bad rap on here but you shouldn't take it personally. I think that anyone that isn't British is scamming; especially Americans.

Sure seems like someone has their shorties in a wad about Americans; Yet another bash remark. Doubt an American has ever scammed him out of anything; maybe his girlfriend laughed him off for a Yank. Couldn't have anything to do with him. ROFLMBO

No, but my girlfriend had an American accent when I met her and used a lot of Ameracanisms when she talked. I don't mind Americans, even though they tend to talk loudly in public places and get all touchy if you say anything about not liking guns or backward baseball caps.

She doesn't talk like an American anymore. Well, she still calls cannabis "pot" but she's lost the accent and she talks to me now instead of shouting. She just left me she said because she didn't like living on the "freeway", whatever that is.

Could it have anything to do with the fact that it is highly unlikely that with travel advisories being what they are for many parts of Africa and the number of refugees flooding out of Africa; despite it being one of the riches continents in the world in resources, that people, regardless of their race, see a relationship with a woman who may or may not be self sustaining in a country that is not known for being forward thinking about women's rights, as a bad bet?

Suppose they do become friends with you. After free email on Mingle where does it go to from there? Postage, phone calls, and mail privileges in many African countries are expensive and difficult. And the reverse is even more true. And risky for nice African women from what we have been told here. Do you think anyone wants to be responsible for you being raped, tortured , or killed for having an American friend? Or wonder for months when you just disappear .

Or if you are going to show up on their doorstep, penniless, maybe sick, with a child or several, no real job skills, or knowledge of the hardships you would face here because someone shipped you into the country illegally? Believe me it happens.

Travel there is horribly difficult and expensive. More than many Americans, white or other wise, make in a year. Not to mention the language barriers, climate, and social implications that if you go there it can get you on a watch list for any number of suspicious reasons that could bar your employment in the USA, travel from the USA, and get your privacy invaded for being an inadvertent aid to terrorism. Did you know that sending something simple like cash or a transistor radio is a crime in many parts of Africa? Or that communicating with someone who represents themselves to be an adult and turns out to be a child or brings a child to this country can be charged with slave trafficing or just create and international incident?

Don't forget the large number of Americans who have gone to Africa in service to your country to defend it and died. Do you think that has any bearing on how responsive someone would be?

True it is VERY UNFAIR for the good and decent people of Africa to have to be kept at arms length but sadly your own people have made it so and only AFRICAN's can really fix it.

I think that Family Guy is a funny show though. Americans make fun of themselves. If it's a world sport they even want to be better at that than everybody else.

One of my best cyber-friends on this website is a woman in Africa. Due to the fact that she lives so far away from me, she and I can't get together. That is the only reason why we haven't gotten together.

Careful when you start telling people what they should do you are "shouding" all over yourself. Are you not judging someone when you call them judgmental? Do you know what is in their heart? Are you a mind reader? Perhaps you are jumping to conclusions that are incorrect.
