Of course age will affect a relationship. We will have too many differences with how we lived our lives and how many years we lived our lives. I find guys in their 20s and 30s as exciting as watching paint dry. They have very little life experience and really don't know what they want in life but this is normal. I didn't have my life figured out by 30 either and I was still learning about life. Now I know what I want and I am focusing on retirement not being a mommy, a cougar, or whatever to a younger man. I want someone who grew up in the 70s and knew what it was like to actually have lived in that time not someone who read about it. I want someone that understands that because of my age I am tired and don't want to make love 3 or 4 times a night; or hit the night clubs, or expects me to dress like a younger woman. I am comfortable in my age and would be uncomfortable with a younger man that doesn't see the world within my own age group.

I will tell you this much: A woman in her 30s or 40s doesn't want to mess around with a man in his 20's who is looking for a woman who will be his nanny/prostitute/ATM.

maturity makes the difference

most often , people mature at generally similar rates, so they reach developmental milestones at similar ages in life

but that's not an absolute

so, its matching maturity that matters more than matching age, ,although age and maturity often have strong correlation

I think it does. I married a girl 12 yrs younger than myself. She was 23 I was 35. Marriage lasted 10 yrs we had a daughter together however we grew apart not together.
