Moscow (AFP) - The Russian lawyer of Edward Snowden said Tuesday that the fugitive US intelligence leaker has feared for his life since reading of explicit threats against him by unnamed Pentagon officials.

"There are real threats to his life out there that actually do exist," Snowden's lawyer Anatoly Kucherena told Russia's state-run Vesti 24 rolling news channel.

"These statements call for physical reprisal against Edward Snowden," Kucherena said.

Or,maybe he is becoming an Embarrassment for the Russians!

what a wretched country I live in how did it get so bad that when real crimes against our constitution occur the man that reports it has to flee for his life and liberty and those committing the crime continue to do so with my hard earned tax dollars and call for the truth teller to be executed.

Snowden has yet to uncover any violations of the law. Just unpopular actions. It offends some people to think that our government engages in spying on other nations, including our "allies." The most offensive being the reminding us that our government collects data its citizens.

To be fair, though, Snowden never fled for his life. He fled to avoid prosecution. In order to gather and disseminate the information he did, he broke many laws. He reneged on promises he made to his employer and government. I think he should man up and face his consequences. Until he does, he's just a coward and I have no respect for him.

Snowden needs to harden his heart.
You don't go around releasing your emotions like that while on the run.
That just exposed his weakness.
What did he expect would happen?
That he would just go skipping down fairy lane?
