On the original question.... I think I'm done with marriage. Shacking up wouldn't be bad, but no more rings on THIS girl's finger!

i am done with marriage i say shack up is the way to go if things dont work the door is open and either one can leave when they feel the need without paying a lawyer to do it. Of course my catholic grandmother would kick my but if she ever read this. lol

I have found that marriage provides a "little" more protection than shacking-up. Shacking-up provides no protection to you.

I see this fresh faced girl posting this thread and I ache from it. Honey don't take shacking up lightly.

You can get away with it for a number of years if you don't own nice things. But if you own nice things then you have to have an agreement in writing.

Or you could lose it when the break-up happens.

Most relationships break up.

The one who gets the stuff is the one who tells the better story.

Shakin up is just one(GOOD)step to finding out if you both got what it takes to be married!!

Isn't SHACKING-UP the term used to describe 'man and woman living together sexually without registering with the State and receiving a document?
Where is the direction that if you did not REGISTER there is SOMETHING wrong with it, or if the two jump over a broom stick to signify that you are now joined is wrong?
So what's wron with shacking up?
