the particular take on any of these experiences
shows a glowing beauty

we question artists like they were sinners

i find myself staring in the mirror,
recognizing that i no longer recognize
the blonde, blue-eyed boy
but he's in there until some trigger takes him out

your dreams are your dreams
you own them until you lose them
panting in a cold sweat before the sun rises,
begging for understanding.

we've died a thousand times, and the next will
surely
be more interesting than the last.

you can't control the heavens any more than the earth,
or your place in between.

i've spent a lifetime watching.
but time, old friend, old fiend,
you never watched after my life.

Yeah, she does. She just thinks I'm a pathological liar which feeds further into her dedicated insecurities. Also, she's obsessed with the idea that she isn't worthy of any love, so she projects it towards the idea that she's constantly doing something wrong and thus she's unlovable, instead of considering any other possibility.

It's wonderful how Colin never mentions that "the person" who is "stalking" him is his girl friend. So he doesn't have a history with her, he has a present. And she likes his poetry.
