Bloomberg leaves office today, protected by firearms When New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg leaves office today he will enter civilian life protected by firearms. The same man who has spent much of his career and personal fortune trying to render good, law-abiding men and women defenseless, will now surround himself with a team of armed bodyguards. Bloomberg's security detail will be comprised of former police officers that he purchased away from the NYPD with the promise of early retirement, six-figure salaries, and other perks that go along with protecting America's most notorious anti-gun zealot. Bloomberg's hypocrisy validates what five million NRA members and tens of millions of gun owners already know: The freedom to own and carry firearms is essential to our fundamental right of self-defense. If this weren't true, then Michael Bloomberg would eschew his security team and walk about town unarmed and defenseless like so many of his former constituents. To be sure, the threats he faces as a former public official are legitimate and should be taken seriously. However, they are no more legitimate or serious than the threats that many American men and women face every day – and that's especially true for many folks who live and work in New York City. <more> http://dailycaller.com/2013/12/31/bloomberg-leaves-office-today-protected-by-firearms/#ixzz2p4rQuC77 |

They are the elite and need firearms to protect them from us low-life. We low-life do not need firearms because that equalizes the playing field too much.

OR,,, EVERYONE Doesn't need nor should have a GUN, let alone military style weaponry
BUT those who are stable and trained (Regardless of economic class) should have access to weapons that can be reasonably believed to be defensive in nature,,, against REALISTIC threats,,,, like crooks, and criminals, and looneys,,,, |

You saying I am unstable?
|
|
|
|
You saying I am unstable? not at all,, lol I am saying IF AND WHEN someone is unstable,, they shouldn't have a GUN |
|
|
|
Hmm I wonder how many of us veterans with PTSD would pass someone's stability check?
Would you give 'em a psychological evaluation? |

I think it would catch the most severe ones, but the cunning ones that elaborately plan it out? No.
I also do not believe in the psychological defenses they claim. |

You saying I am unstable? not at all,, lol I am saying IF AND WHEN someone is unstable,, they shouldn't have a GUN When they don't enforce the laws already in place, we end up with more regulation and restriction for them to ignore. Never "fixing" the problem, just creating more possibility to make criminals and victims of the innocent, destroying more rights and our ability to defend them. They've done such a great job on immigration as well! |

The government just needs to stay out of the way. Their (the gov't) best work is creating problems so they can claim a right to fix them by taking control of them Look at immigration, education, the economy, and their latest treasure.....healthcare |

how could any of these issues be better?
immigration, education, economy, healthcare? I know its all popular to just scapegoat government, but what better solutions are being offered? if we look at countries with 'better' immigration or education or economy or healthcare,, have they done it by having government 'stay out of the way'? |

The stay out of the way is in regards to our 2nd Amendment. We could learn a lot from Finland education. Their teachers have to be in the top 10% of the class and are well paid, so students know it is important. |

I Havent researched it (yet) so my inquiry is genuine how do you suppose they manage to be successful in that area? do the teachers do better because they are paid better or are they paid better because they do better? where would you guess it starts..the cycle of success that Finland has with their education? Is government involved in education in Finland? |

Hope you gonna give one to every Motorvehicle Operator as well! we already test drivers before we give them licenses,,, we test doctors too before we give them licenses, sometimes , a test is a good indicator of knowledge of the job or responsibility,,, ID be fine with , instead of a traditionsl psyce exame, gun owners underwent a similar TESTING process ,, maybe like the police do real time simulation to see who they are likely to shoot and how impulsively they will shoot at others,,,,,,,, |
