Truth.. depends upon whose collective agreement one chooses to believe

You mean like how the members of Heaven's Gate collectively agreed that if they kill themselves they would go to an alien spacecraft for the trip to the home planet? That is not truth. Theologically, they are arguing whether the Bible has an underlining theme of salvation and forgiveness, but if one simply counts related verses one finds a theme of judgement and damnation. A Sioux woman once told me a story that two wolves live in a man's heart: a wolf of light and a wolf of darkness. They battle each other for dominance; I asked her which one wins- she said the one you feed the most. It does not matter what text you read, but with what heart you read it with.

or how doctors once agreed the liver circulates blood
or astronomers agreed the earth was the center of the universe
or a list of things that the 'experts' of the time were convinced of that turned out to be misunderstood/wrong

It depends on how you define truth. It is historically inaccurate and clumsily edited; poorly repeating older stories, often doing so word for word and rife with contradiction. My old Theology professor used to say that people who respect the Bible, never actually read it. That being said, it depends on how you define truth.
