Never in my wildest life
did I ever expect to meet
someone who took the time
to cleverly and totally vet me.

From the very first hello
to the next to last goodbye
the connection that we had
provoked a natural high.

Wanting to hold on tight
but needing to let it go
I couldn'��t allow our feelings
to spin this out of control.

They ate away at my psyche
like a ravaging painful cancer
and there never really was
any wrong or righteous answer.

Every move I made
was to gain a broader view,
every move you made
was to meet somebody new.

Leaving me to stand alone
you spent most of your time with them
I'��m sure you had your reasons
so I left to make my own friends.

Now we have moved on
no grass grows beneath our feet
we are both single agents
and there'��s plenty more people to meet.

Some will get up close
others will keep their distance,
and we'��ll each meet our match
on the path of least resistance.
