Topic: Benoit Muder may have been caused by Brain Damage | |
---|---|
He's dead, the deed is done, get over it.
The only ones who have any reason to keep up with this is the family of Nancy Benoit for the murder and The Family of Chris Benoit for the son going crazy thing. ^ |

I think I know my Distant cousin better than you, however your point is seen. We all have secrets, I suppose.

Sorry about that, you are right, I don't know him as much as I would've liked to. You missed my point though, what does it matter anymore. The only thing this effects anymore is the family on both sides. It SHOULDN'T effect anyone else, especially not us we mere spectators.

Couldn't agree more, you might want to look at how your hanging on to it. Understand he was family & it is a tragedy no matter how it happened. Your loss is felt by many here, sorry for it all.

I don't know about this.
Josh, you sat Chris Benoit's "diminished capacity" comes from his "diving head-butt" move from the top rope. I have two points about that. 1-Remember Harley Race? Former 7-time NWA World Champion? Race's big move was the same as Benoit's. 2-The main objective of a wrestling move is to make it look good--WITHOUT causing any harm to yourself or your opponent. As good in the ring as Benoit was, and he honestly was one of the best workers in history, I just can't believe he'd continually do this move if it hurt him every time he did it. And if he DID hurt himself every time, he was doing it wrong--and Benoit was never known to do very many moves wrong. Race did that move for years, and never injured himself. I DO believe Benoit's situation was caused by blows to the head, possibly concussions that weren't checked out. Continuous concussions that aren't treated can lead to major problems. Damn the storylines--wrestlers need to take, be forced even, time off to heal injuries. They are contracted performers in WWE, they should be put under no pressure to work injured. Of course, there is the fear among wrestlers that they'll "lose their spot" if they take time off. I'm usually anti-union, but now I feel that a union might be the only thing that can truly protect wrestlers form unscrupulous bosses--and themselves. In summary, I guess there's enough blame to go around here. Benoit, of course, must take ultimate responsibility for his actions. WWE and McMahon(and other owners/promoters)deserve blame for structuring the business to where performers feel that they must work injured for fear of losing their spot-and, in some instances, their jobs. And we fans, for raising the bar, and helping to install a "can you top this" mentality amonst the wrestlers. |

Actually joshy, if you look at where this story came from you will notice that the study was paid for and released by doctors affiliated with the Sports Legacy Institute!
This organization is ran by former pro wrestler Christopher Nowinski, and since Nowinski still has ties with World Wrestling Entertainment Inc., which runs the league he and Benoit were in, I would say it was released to divert pressure from the WWE. They have been under intense pressure from the morale, legal, and the fans of late, and I would say it was a planned realease, if not biased! Didnt they just release 12 wrestlers for testing positive to steroid use? |
