I agree a wedding license does not afford a person a fidelity commitment but it sure puts costs in it if one party or the other allows infidelity or decides to play dirty.

If you live with someone and comingle your assets and they decide to ditch you, whatever the reason justified or not, they can basically take whatever they can get.

Shacking up, unlike marriage, there is no protection from fraud, no equal share, no rights to tenantcy, no rights of survivorship, and no protections if you are incapacitated. They also have no say in your property, medical care, or disposition of your property over heirs you may have had no contact with in for years, you may not like, and who has no idea what is actually yours or theirs.

At least the courts being involved you have a shot at getting half and a chance to enforce what ever rights you might have as a spouse over the practically nothing you get as a mistress/giggalo.

If you shack up you better have signed documents and receipts for everything because when it comes down to making a claim it means nothing to the greater society how long you have lived together or weather you think you have met common law status. Which is exactly why society decided to ditch common law practices as unenforceable.

I saw an article online about this website called : Shesahomewrecker.com

The site actully made me mad and this is Why.sick mad
When my boyfrined cheated on me, HE WAS COMPLETELY TO BLAME!

Granted a boyfriend is different than a husband, and by different I mean the husband is WORSE!

He took the vow to be faithful.. to forsake all others for her. The woman he cheated with made no such vow!

Yes, It's sleazy for a woman to knowingly go after a married man, but lets be real... She has zero obligation to that man's wife, He does!

Come on Chicks! Get it together! Kick him to the curb... and take half if you can't take it ALL!rant

Comments?
That's a bad attitude to have? Blaming every guy, for the actions of one? Looking for the backing of the woman, to make you feel justified? Then you want to take the guy to the cleaners also? It's women like you that I avoid like the plague and make me glad that im still single!!

Personally I don't blame anyone for one person's mistake except the one who's responsible! If my husband Were a cheater... DAmn Freakin' right take everything he has ...down to the taste buds in his mouth!

Did you read my post? women posting other womens names as home wreckers because their less than zero husbands cheated with these broads! I'm saying... Why go through that... Focus where the deception lies! That would be with the loser husband!
Money and property can be stolen.... A WHOLE person can't be.

I say its all fair play

yep, we should have he/she is an adulterer
he/she is a homewrecker
he/she is a cheapskate
he/she is easy

,,,I mean, the possibilities are endless in reality, and people can choose to take it to heart or get to know people on their own

its a sad reality of the internet age, people can pretty much share their perceptions and opinions bout anyone and anything,,

HMMMM ZERO OBLIGATION to play fair towards a WIFE/spouses? This kind of thinking is exactly what pits people against people every day. IF people do not look out for other people then as a species it is no wonder we are basically eaten alive.

Personally if you are busted for being a home wrecker I have little or no sympathy for you. I don't care if as a neighbor, landlord, employer, services provider, potential In Law, Parent or Partner what ever way I might have power over you to refuse you I am going to do it. There are consequences for being selfish and if you do the crime, and I consider contributing yourself as a Home-wrecker is a crime, there should be implications and the more severe the better.

If you end up impoverished, living in the streets, or publicly shamed by having lost it all and begging for help like many spouses are who are cheated on do; so much the better. For the harm they do to children alone I think more spouses should file lawsuits not only against the cheating spouse but the worthless people who cheat with them.

I believe if more of them were hit in the pocket book and their standard of living was effected it would slow this practice down a LOT. That many walk away scott-free with whatever booty they stole from the families they destroyed is shameful. If the spouses were able to confiscate the memberships, tuition, stock, jewelry, cars, clothes, apartments, and subsidized employment plus any other assets then that would be justice in my book.

You will notice I am completely Gender Neutral on this issue. It does not natter to me if the person who is cheating with a spouse is male or female.

I will say I find out a guy has the reputation for or has admitted to "tapping" a married gal I see that every bit as repulsive as being with a child molester/rapist. Be cause he certainly is raping a family and the man who is supporting that woman more often than not.

Yeah I read your post and the last part summed up your true feelings? Simple as! If that was a guy shouting about taking a woman for everything, he would be getting it from all angles on here and quite rightly so? Why should your comment be treated any differently?

the other party can be sued for alienation of affection, I believe

but it has to be proven they were aware of the marital relationship,,,

And I agree with you Pacific... I wouldn't chase or fall for a married man because personally I DO Feel obligated.. as a one time wife and as a woman. This is my standard. But I'm still not going to support a website that points a finger at the Mistress. Once she's outed.. and Shamed, what then happens to the sneaky husband?
He gets Dr Phil love... cries a little bit then finds a new side piece.
Why not Post HIS ( Husband) or a cheating ( WIFE) name on a website?

If the woman was a zero rate wife sneaking around on him.... HE SHOULD GET EVERYTHING! I don't play favorites... It only rubbed YOU the wrong way because I mentioned the cheating Husband. Whoever, cheats should get NOTHING! I'm not a man hater.. but I harbour no love for anyone who treats his OR HER wedding vows like nothing.
It makes me angry... To me, The Side piece is just that. A side piece is of no importance.

kids are a seperate issue

regardless of 'marital status', whoever is taking care of the children should not also have to take care of a grown ex who is left with the freedom and ability to take care of themselves just like they could before the relationship began

whtever their relationship was,,,

Im sorry for your experience Larson

It's cool, her loss that's all and a son who can't stand her and that was his choice, not mine! I always left the door open for her to have a relationship with him and all she did was break promises and let him down! I've got myself back on my feet again though, but im older and wiser this time around! flowerforyou

These are issues beyond cheating.
Cheating is Bad on its own but your ex was battling some serious demons and brought your whole family into it!

Honestly, I can't comment on this because I've never experienced it.
I hope you were able to recover well from it ... and if you are still recovering good luck to you!

I think that piece of paper means a lot. It mean you took the extra step to commit yourself to that person. cheaters have low self-esteem. for a web site to promote it is just making money off of low-lifes. No the Children are not another story, they are part of the story. You have a responsibility to them, because of a cheaters total disregard to the people that love and depend on them, a cheater is responsible for destroying their lifes as well as their husband or wife

I think it varies from place to place. It would be pretty hard to make a case for not knowing if the person was living with the spouse. Now if the philander maintained two separate residences that might factor in. But the charge I would think would expect the defendant to do 'due diligence"? Interesting point of law.

I wish kids could sue for the disruption of their family by cheaters. It is the kids lives that are most often turned upside down. Often it is a move away from their entire lives as they knew it; schools, doctors, friends, grandparent relationships ect..

I think if it is time to go sleep with someone else...
{In a Monogamous relationship}
Then it is past time to end the relationship.

Yea the ones that say it is better to Come from a broken home than LIVE in one knock me out. Why not FIX the broken home whenever possible. Granted not all can be FIXED but so often with the same things you did to GET them you can do to KEEP them and your kids are the winners. That should be enough of an incentive to try at least.
