I'm in New York not too far from the city. A search from 18 to 54 yrs of age produced like 8 people who have been active in the past month. Most other sites would produce many hundreds. All well, I guess I will try a different one. Good luck to ya.

If you're serious about meeting someone from here, yes. Most people who find relationships here are a lot further than 25 miles apart. If you need someone "local" I suggest you look in the real world. Perhaps not many New Yorkers feel the need to be active on here since they have access to so many people where they live in the world. Just my assumption....

Ah Yeah...I've tried thos sites...
They will show you hundreds but 10 will live close to you, and 6 out of the 10 haven't been on since 2011!

Make some friends in the forum... Go from there, you never know.

I disagree. It's not realistic to travel more than an hour to date someone. Most people don't want such long distant relationships. They seldom work out. I have been there and done that and it wears on you. It's been a few years since I last did these dating sites but the paid ones produced tons of active people looking for relationships within 5 to 15 miles from me. I guess I will be better off going to a paid site.

Teepee that's what I'm finding on this site. 43 pages of "available" women. But 99 % haven't been on in the last month lol. I hate sites that do that. With a free site like this its no big deal but it's exactly why I'm cautious when paying for a dating site.

My last paid dating sight produced not one person and it specialized in meet at their office location meetups. Waste of money. I'll stick with this site and at least I meet a lot of nice people from the forums. JMHO Good luck!

Well duh if that many available women are not on site it may mean that they are actively dating someone from the site.

Someone who has made the effort to build a relationship and actually offers dates that people want to go on.

That they just are not picking someone who chronically complains is no surprise.

I can pretty much assure you if you go to a paid site you are going to find many of the same people and they are going to respond the same way. All you will have to show for your money is and empty pocket.

Obviously your reading comprehension is not too good. I'm not complaining about people not responding to me. I signed up today and will be deactivating my account today. I never wrote anyone because in 25 miles to the north, south, east and west of my location there are only 8 people who have been active in the past month between the ages of 18-54. The rest of the profiles are old, inactive and bogus profiles to make the site look like it's busy when in fact it's not, a pet peeve of mine. That was the point of my thread. To live within 20 miles of the NYC border and only come up with 8 active dating prospects is unheard of on any site. But yes if it makes you feel better, believe that everyone in the 43 pages of outdated profiles, all connected on here and are building relationships. Duh! Oh and I have a bridge to sell you to if interested.
