side note: Golden Hinge Mountain is the Highest
peak on Vancouver Island 7000+ ft and just about
1 1/2 hours away from where I grew up .
Named after Capt. Sir Francis Drake's boat as he was there on his circumnavigation of the world in 1577-80 and was an early (fur) trader to the Island way before Hudson's Bay Company. Another Captain was reminded of Drake's boat every time the sun would shine on the maintain.
