I remember one time years ago when I was talking to a woman on the phone that I was trying to get a date with and when I told her that I'm a mature student she said, "Oh well, I suppose that you won't be a student forever".

I genuinely believe that a lot of women do look at that bit on my profile and dismiss me because of that and it's undeniable that some people feel that they should date people that have a certain level of income and are in what they think of as their social class. Some just look at it as not wanting to date people that they consider to be layabouts.

I remember my ex telling me that she was a cheap date and what she meant by that was that she didn't expect me to take her to fancy places and spend a lot of money on her because she was happy enough just going out to a pub or somewhere like a comedy club or a place where they serve ethnic food, like this place here that does Moroccan food that doesn't even have table service. One time I took her to the opera and those tickets had been expensive but she was bored by the interval and we just went off to the pub instead and had a few drinks and listened to a guy singing and playing the guitar there.

All of my girlfriends seem to be like that and they are down to earth working class women that don't particularly care how much money you have in the bank because that sort of thing just isn't that important to them.

I'm a scorpio myself. It's the most sexual of all the signs but scorpios are also honest and loyal. I've got an ex that is an aeries and when I was reading about the romantic compatibility with scorpio and aeries it said that it is a bad match and not to go there because you can't have two heads in a relationship. Now she's with a gemini and they haven't had the conflict that I did with her and he doesn't let it effect him when she's in one of her moods and she says that he's a pushover and will do anything for her. I asked her what it is that they do together because I wanted to know what was better about him and she told me that he took her to Ikea for lunch on a Sunday. Whoopy f**king doo, I said and I told her that we could have done that.

Now he's lost his job and he's got some health problem that means that they can't have sex. She claims that she isn't bothered about the sex and that that will come but the guy is feeling sorry for himself and inadequate I guess and she told me that she's getting fed up with his moping about and I understood and said that she does need to give him a boot up the arse and tell him to go out and get another job.

Told her that I'm going to take a year off from doing my masters degree because of the year that I've just had and because I want to have a good think about what I'm going to write about in my dissirtation and prepare for it by just going back to my books and studying on my own. She agreed with me that it is probably time for me to take a year off and I'm not whining or feeling sorry for myself. I've got a regular income and no financial problems and am happy enough with my life and not feeling inadequate or sorry for myself.

Women say that they like honesty and confidence and I've got that. Scorpio is passion and power and I may be no pushover or doormat but I'm honest and loyal. So, they say that when it's over you should move on and an ex is just an ex but I've got this ex that I do want in my life as a friend and we talk for hours and she respects me. Last time I saw her she said that it was only going to be a quick visit and that she was only going to stay for five minutes but she still stayed for over an hour chatting with me.

There's a certain poster on here that claims to be an intuitive person and that she's looking for someone that's also like that. Well, when I was with my last girlfriend I told her that she had a dark side and you can call that an intuition, or picking up on a "vibe" that someone gives off. It's not about being intuitive. Anyone can do that. Not everyone will be honest and tell you what feeling they get from you though and that's the difference. This is why I'm not a player but a lot of people just don't like it if you are honest and outspoken and that's the truth.

Why am I still single? Perhaps it's because I'm too honest and don't give women a lot of BS just to keep them happy. Don't pretend to be something that I'm not and if they don't like it that it says that I'm a postgraduate student on my profile and not an acountant, or someone that owns their own business I don't care. They can date acountants and businessmen if that's their type or preference. They can go and stand on a street corner and try to get money from men that way for all that I care.
