Good news:

It was a normal day in Sharon Springs, Kansas,
when a Union Pacific crew boarded a loaded coal train for the long trek to Salina.

The Bad news:

Just a few miles into the trip a wheel bearing became overheated and melted, letting a metal support drop down and grind on the rail,
creating white hot molten metal droppings spewing down to the rail.

The Good news:

A very alert crew noticed smoke about halfway back in the train and immediately stopped the train, in compliance with the Governmental Regulations.

The Bad news:

The train stopped with the hot wheel over a wooden bridge with creosote ties and trusses. When crew tried to explain to higher-ups that they needed to move the train, they were instructed not to move the train, because Federal Regulations prohibit moving the train when a part is defective.

Well okee-dokey then, and the pictures tell the rest.

As always the Government knows what is best for us.

REMEMBER, RULES ARE RULES!
Don't ever let common sense get in the way of a Government Regulation.

And now they will decide our health care !

Well okee-dokey then

Oh, man, that's sure going to suck when we start parking our overheated health insurance policy on wooden bridges soaked with creosote! How many more bridges must we sacrifice for the sake of getting a few million more people access to affordable healthcare?!

Until slowtards who defend this POS law can explain to me why a single person should LOSE their benefits so somebody else can be forced to buy insurance they can't afford I will dismiss stupidity.

Until slowtards who defend this POS law can explain to me why a single person should LOSE their benefits so somebody else can be forced to buy insurance they can't afford I will dismiss stupidity.

I'm sorry if you can't understand simple instructions. I know I've already posted explanations, but let me see if you'll pick it up if I explain like you're five.

Congress passed a law called the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (also known as the ACA, or more derisively as "Obamacare). It's a set of regulations on health insurance along with some other rules on health insurance consumers and employers who would buy health insurance for their employees.

Some of the regulations on insurance companies are that they cannot refuse to sell insurance to people due to their pre-existing conditions, and that they cannot sell policies with lifetime caps on coverage. Some people have been buying policies that allowed the insurance companies to drop coverage at will, and stop paying medical bills after a certain amount of payouts. Now, with the ACA, those policies are no longer sold. Further, in some states, in order to participate in health insurance exchanges, they couldn't carry those policies at all after 2014.

Many people who had those insurance policies may have liked their plans, but that was mostly because they didn't really use the plans. They simply paid their relatively low premiums, and then never had an incident where their medical bills exceeded a few thousand dollars in any year. Other people who did use those plans, running up against their "caps" or in other cases found out their insurance company canceled their policy for other reasons, had no recourse, but to complain. Before the ACA, there was nothing to do. Now, those customers can go and buy a new plan on their state's exchange website or by calling their toll-free phone number.

To answer your question more directly: Some people lose their "benefits" because those "benefits" sucked or in other cases, it was just something that was going to happen with or without the ACA, but now that the ACA passed, it's a convenient scapegoat. If you could be more specific as to which "benefits" were lost, and who lost it, then I'm betting there's an even better answer, including that their policy not only sucked, but that they paid too much and the policies now available

I'd also like to point out that the story in the OP has been faked. There fire was real, but the cause was different, and the train crew were never prohibited by federal rules from moving the train with a defective part.

Sucked by whose definition? People are pissed off because they liked what they had and were happy to PAY for what they had, now this POS sorry excuse for sperm comes along and forces everybody who already bought insurance to buy insurance only now it is more expensive and this was done so some can get health insurance they still cannot afford. So no, you did not answer my question.
