It's about time yes? YES!!!!!

This will be excellent for women!...I always say packing heat might not be the answer for me because it would be too easy for my assailant/intruder to take it from me and shoot me...slaphead Wonder how many seconds elapse before print is read and recognized?...

yep,the Fingerprint Feature works best with Sweat and Dirt!
Besides, one can bypass the whole thing easy!
An Idea whose time has gone!
But great thing for the anti-gunners,they love Gadgets that refuse to function under real life Situations!
A mechanical Firearm works under adverse conditions, when it is really needed!
What guaranty do I have that when really needed that electronic Gadget will work as it ought?

Get a Refund from the Manufacturer?

Hi Leigh!waving
A Firearm is only useful when it works at the time of need!
Suppose I have it in my Pocket, and the Electronics go Haywire?laugh

The whole thing would be called a Schnapsidee in German!
Only to appease the Politicians, who ought to be out of the Picture concerning Firearms anyway!

Yep, I knew that part (needs to work at the time of need).....And I also subscribe to this .."Keep it simple stupid"...Kinda scary when firearms come packaged with two or three pages of instructions written in 4 different languagesfrustrated

I think the technology is meant to considerably reduce the chances of theft and traffic of weapons. You know, the types who still think their gloves box in the car as secure?laugh

You guys are worried about your government? Scaryscared

What it's meant to do, and what it does are two different things. Grandmother always said "the road to hell was paved with good intentions".

As Conrad stated, these are easily by-passable. They are also very expensive. And, for those that use these firearms (police, or maybe military included) your dependability goes down as previously stated. (Dirt, grease, etc. can interrupt fingerprint scan for instance).

So to sum it up;

gun traffickers = uneffected

cops/military/civilians = increase spending and decrease effectiveness

Interesting article, terrible idea

It's a monumental, impossible exercise in futility noway

Interesting, this is all I hear from people who don't have answers to a very specific and problematic issue. Your guns are falling in the wrong hands because again, some are too stupid to realize that glove boxes are not a safe place to keep weapons.

Again, Your weapons are falling in the wrong hands... no better suggestions?
