Nice summation and I would agree with *those* generalities.

I agree that this time could be used to address individual problems. In all seriousness I do know people who make a difference and maybe talking about one of them could inspire others.

I met this young man (he is 19) who was receiving a scholarship from and organization I do volunteer work with- he lives in a densely packed, urban area of Miami. He wanted to improve the diet of the people around him so he found a way to establish urban container gardens in the common areas of his building. He and his neighbors now grow vegetables on the roof, terraces, windowsills and alley. This has helped in several ways: added fresh vegetables to their diets, taught the residents some nutrition and gardening, and given the residents, especially the children, some pride and satisfaction in seeing the literal fruits of their labors.

It also, as I said, got him a scholarship to a state school where hopefully he will continue to be an innovative leader.

Is this the kind of thing you want to talk about YBS? Or did you have a completely different idea?
