Anyone who thinks that 'money' (or wealth) or an exchange of some kind does not take place in any relationship probably does not understand what a relationship is.

But if you want to narrow it down to "money" or that paper stuff that you buy groceries with, then try getting into a relationship where one person controls all the money, buys all the food, pays the rent, etc and then ask yourself .... what does that person get in return?

If that person gets NOTHING in exchange ... not even sex or services, the relationship will fall apart.


A relationship is a partnership.

Can you say money is not an issue when you have none, can't pay the bills, can't buy food, and can't supply the basic necessities in life. It's not that important if all these needs are met but if not, then it becomes a focal point. All the love you have for someone can't provide for them the basics in life without money.

Where I feel the logic here is right on I can also say that two people who work together as partners will strive harder to find ways of providing the necessities of life in whatever way possible. An example being, let's say my partner and I have no money to buy groceries, but our neighbor needs substantial work done around her house and she doesn't have a lot of cash on hand. However, she does have a lot of stored food on hand. The couple can do the work together for the neighbor, the neighbor pays the couple in stored food and no money is exchanged. I have gone through some pretty difficult times in my life where there was severe lack of money, but creative ways of providing the necessities always came around. In other words, where there is a will and the two partners working together through love for each other, they will always find a way. JMHO

Then it is time to start a meth lab.
