he is speaking the truth. i feel that the whole thing started over a clash of ideals and because of that they will never have peace over there.

there has been some news from iraq lately where citizens are working with the security forces and the current government(not relying on the US to do it) to rid theirselves of the ones that are causing problems for them.

It's a Holy War over there. Always has been.

You know what they say about two women fighting. Don't try to break them up, they'll just turn on you and beat the crap out of you. Same thing about interfering in a Holy War.

Throughout history, more blood has been shed in the name of religion than for all other reasons combined.

(Knoxman) As my agnostic friend and I often say, there is no army more powerful than one of god. A religion-controlled military force is powerful because they truly feel what they are doing is right and they don't fear death because their efforts will be rewarded in heaven. in a sense you are doing them a favor by killing them.

Well, deano, it's nice to hear your opinion on that, but that wasn't the question really.

It's too bad that
such a gulf exists
in Islam.

Of course, a similar
gulf exists in Christianity.

Jesus preached about
tolerance of our neighbor
and to love our enemies.

But the truth of what
those who call themselves
Christians really believe
runs counter to this.

There is a hypocrisy
that runs counter to
everything Jesus preached.

They talk of patriotism
even though most of them
don't even know what that
means.

It's all well and good
to support the war as
long as it's not your
son or daughter getting
blown up by a roadside
bomb.

Or you don't have to
go over and sit in the
heat and get sand fleas
in your boots.
