While this may come as a surprise to some readers, where I sit today is Friday. Nothing special about that I hear you say, but if I write the date down for you, you maybe shocked to learn that it is 13/12/13. I'm aware Americans think the month should come before the day, but unless you get paid monthly, the day is more important. Anywho, I thought you might find that snippet of interest. Other than that, Howdy y'all, I hope you're as warm as I & are keeping well.

And it is still cold here but warming up, thank goodness. Have a Merry Christmas! |

Thanks for the kind thoughts Hippie, & of course they are reciprocated. I'm uncertain where this "Happy Holiday" started, but it sure takes the "Christ" out of Christmas! Again, A VERY MERRY XMAS to you

Political correct (groan) folks will tell you holidays because there are several of them this time of year. But I celebrate Christmas, so I say Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. I do not get offended when others say Happy whatever they celebrate, and I expect the same restraint for me! hehehe
Have a happy New Year too foszil! |

Hippie, my ancestors are English on my mothers side, & Scottish on my fathers side. As a family, we celebrated Xmas & Hogmanay. As far as Hogmanay went, the celebration was low-key, because neither my brother nor myself developed a taste for whisky. Tiz the one time of year my father made up for his sons perceived short-comings.

Haggis is something that should be tried, but don't inquire too closely about it's origins. |
