I heard a noise a while ago and went out to the deck to investigate. Some critter ran across the deck (it was dark). I started to look closer but went inside instead. A few minutes ago, I went to the front door and it smelled of skunk!

I almost got sprayed!!

Thats strange..I never knew of a skunk that would climb..are you sure it wasnt under your deck? maybe something else was on the deck..youre pretty high up.

So we getting together in April or May??

I don't think a skunk would have any trouble going up steps. Although it was pretty dark, it didn't look like a coon and moved way too fast to be a possum. It scurried instead of running so it wasn't a cat. Something on the deck made it spray later.

There is usually an odd assortment of creatures vying for the cat food but since the wild dogs ate the cat, I don't want to leave food out there for the possums, coons, skunks, and stray cats. I think even the wild dogs and maybe coyotes are coming up now.

I have about two or three "events" per night. Somebody gets pissed off at somebody and creates a ruckus.

I talked to a wildlife biologist and she said unless there was a ramp, a skunk wont climb over two or three steps..and they dont move very fast at all..maybe you have one that is inbred with something else..lol
But I do understand now aggravating night pests can be..especially if they are making your skunk spray.

OK. My calendar for April and May is filling up. (LOL) Looking for dates for the get together here in Fort Worth???? Actually, with Easter and graduation it is a busy time of year and would sure like to get together with y'all. (I'm working on my Texas accent)

I can see some green in my yard, but its mostly still dead..we need some of that rain you are getting..but none in sight yet.
What about that oil spill down there? Looks bad from what I see on the news.

Mowed my yard Saturday then did more yard work on Sunday... That is after I fought with my weed eater for like 3 hours damn thing did not want to start......

I miss TEXAS, temporary home is CA but know I am thinking of Texas all the time :)
