It is 5:30 in the morning here, I have not slept yet and sleep does not seem to becoming anytime soon. So the sun is set to rise at 6:42, I think I am going to go for a walk watch the sunset and take some pictures of it. Maybe that will help me sleep? It is a good thing that it is a holiday and I have nothing to do today.

I am so jealous of normal people with normal jobs. Well, I suppose I have a normal job as well, but it's retail and I work in Audit now, therefore I'm required to show up for work. Always.

Even on Holidays.

I really need to find another job...

Normal is over-rated, that's why I chose to be different some time ago.

A science-fiction / comedy writer who does professional wrestling commentary on the side with aspirations of making independant films or maybe a successful comic book or Animated Television series... Odd.

joshy,
I didin't know you were a sci-fi writer. I write with a writing team for nightflight films. We are just getting ready to start filming a t.v. show for local cable called midnight sci-fi theater, we are going to show old movies and we have a cast and crew for movie breaks, really cool characters. I just finished a horror movie as well. Its just a hobby for me and with school and work, i'm busy but I try to get my writing done on a timely schedule...try being the operative term

A change of jobs can be a good thing. I used to think a good job was all about money. Then I thought a good job was having a gravy job where one didn't have to do much. Then I thought a good job is one where you get to travel with the company. Then I thought a good job was about driving and seeing the countryside while earning a paycheck. Then I thought a good job was about serving your country. Then I thought a good job was about going to college and earning a degree. Then I thought a good job was about being with the carnival and having fun. Finally I figured out that there isn't any good jobs to be had. I like doing what I do now and I get paid for it. It doesn't really pay squat but its a living.

hillfolk, you always talk about how you love your job, time to go to nursing school kiddo, doesn't take that long, and you would love it even more, and the money is much much better

(LoriZ) hmmm... now I don't know what to send you. My specialty IS more comedy than anything else.

Perhaps some of my book, that should cover the Sci-Fi AND comedy elements of my work.

Hmmmm... might be worth looking into... I can get some odd ideas sometimes, but I've found I'm usually fine when I have someone to look at all the ideas I get and sort out the good ones!

Lori, been hearing the nurses talking about it. So far the general consensus is that going for the LPN if one is considering the RN later is a waste of time. One nurse was telling me that the difference was that LPN can't admit new clients in but RNs can. I mean you got a point I am already registered as a CNA with the state; Have had to have a police check and a federal check done on me just to work at a nursing home. The nurses have been telling me about the slower pace of a nursing home and the faster pace of hospital conditions. The pay is sure different for the different classifications. It is something that I have thought of. Actually the travelling nurse position that this one nurse told me about does peak my interest. I think I will ask that nurse more about it when I get back to work since I don't go back into work till Wednesday.

I'm a CNA for Alabama, but not Indiana. I took the class to please my mom (bad idea right there) and I don't know... During the clinicals I realized that that type of work isn't for me. Witnessed a stage four ulcer dressing changing and I passed out. Since then, I cannot handle seeing blood, I have to sit down.

Before all that, I was OK around things. Now, not so much. I don't understand.

Probably reached your level of incompetence, Redhead. I have had to deal with that. I have had to learn more from on the job training after the college. Somethings I can deal with and some I can not. I have had to ask questions which for me was a real pain to the ego but had to move beyond that. It was either I had to remain stupid about something or find out from someone who knew. Not knowing something to an Aquarian male is just too much of a challenge to deal with. It was like the ego be damned I just had to know.laugh

For example, I was dealing with this one old lady and it didn't matter what I did it was wrong. I asked the aide on dayshift who doesn't have a problem with her how to handle her. She said just let her think she is control. It seems to be working. To me it seems like a mind game and dishonest but I guess if it works don't fix it. I come across these situations all the time while dealing with dimentia. It can really be frustrating but fortunately there are people who know more than I do that I can learn from.

It seems so simple when I think of it now. Almost twenty four years of going to meetings and hearing just about every kind of con job you can think of and think the mind games were just a waste of time and there is the answer right in front of me. Just lie to them. Wow, what an insight!
