not to break up the flow! but is it Hills have eyes 2. where the opening shots are. you hear a woman's voice screaming in the background Outasight.. then the camera pans over to her tied to a bed. giving birth. hands take the newly pushed out baby. then. camera pans to her head shot.. and immediately. unknown person. plunges a hammer into her skull. so much like breeding cattle and then slaughtering them... best shocking visual I've seen yet... but again not sure
which one. Hills
..

Have Eyes 1 .2 or 3.

There's a 3?

Well there's a 3 in the works, and there was a sort of part 3 to the original that's titled The Outpost(1995).

I need to go back through this thread and write down the ones banned in the US.

Surprisingly the US is more lax when it comes to banning films, at least horror-wise. Back in the 80's the UK was banning everything left and right, now it seems Australia and New Zealand have taken up that slack.

to watch when you're tired
3 being not that bad

"Salo", without a doubt. The director's murder immediately after filming indicates how people felt about the film...

Which is, in my opinion, horrifying but really good.

This is the trailer - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VLdO-qkY1pQ

I've always thought Bruce Dern was creepy in the 1981 film Tattoo where he plays a disturbed tattoo artist that kidnaps a model and uses her as a human canvas.

I think it's an excellent film. Had a huge influence on films to come like the Paranormal Activity franchise.

I also love the Blair Witch Project.

I thought it understood what truly horrifies people, and it started the whole home-recorded thing as Torgo mentioned.

it was brilliant enough to make alot of money...lol

having family members in the business of directing and acting, I felt it was horrendous,,,

the filming was like something from a fisher price toy
and the acting,,, smh, indescribable

but, hey, they laughed all the way to the bank,,,,,

It's not supposed to look like it's professionally filmed, kind of the point of the found footage genre.
