Predictable: Obama Blames GOP, Tea Party, Everybody Else for the Mess We’re in.
Posted 10.08.13

President Obama came out on Tuesday to once again accuse Republicans of extorting Congress to get their way.

We’ve heard it before. Like the rest of America, I’m still eagerly awaiting the day that Barack takes responsibility for anything. Harry Truman’s motto was, “The buck stops here.” Obama’s motto seems to be, “Nothing is ever my fault.”

The President gave a lackluster speech and got right into the usual rhetoric, saying,
“In the same way, members of Congress, and the House Republicans in particular, don’t get to demand ransom in exchange for doing their jobs. And two of their very basic jobs are passing a budget and making sure that America’s paying its bills. They don’t also get to say, you know, unless you give me what the voters rejected in the last election, I’m going to cause a recession.

That’s not how it works. No American president would deal with a foreign leader like this. Most of you would not deal with either co- workers or business associates in this fashion. And we shouldn’t be dealing this way here in Washington.

And you know, I’ve heard Republicans suggest that, well, no, this is reasonable, that this is entirely appropriate. But as I’ve said before, imagine if a Democratic Congress threatened to crash the global economy unless a Republican president agreed to gun background checks or immigration reform. I think it’s fair to say that Republicans would not think that was appropriate.”
We must keep in mind that as the President uttered these words, condemning extortion tactics, his administration was still blocking Americans from national park, still spending government money to shutter war memorials, still forcing citizens from their homes because their homes sit on land the federal government claims.

Obama’s remarks come just months after Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid threatened to amend Senate filibuster rules if he didn’t get his way with political appointees.

No- Obama and his fellow Democrats are far too noble to succumb to extortion tactics….

While Obama and his fellow leftists have fought to characterize the Republican-led resistance to disastrous economic policies as extortion, they have seemingly gotten it backwards. He insists that people cannot “demand ransom” for doing their job. He claims that he is willing to negotiate with Speaker Boehner and other Republicans, but seems only willing to do so once he’s gotten his way. Once the President has what he wants, what use is further discussion?

Like so many swindles before, giving the President what he seeks will simply end the conversation. He and his fellow Democrats will leave the GOP and the rest of America high-and-dry, feeling embarrassed that they were, once again, taken in by this con artist who insists he is willing to be reasonable, but only willing to play along until he is able to secure one more political victory that is disastrous for America.
Obama rambled on and insisted,

“So let me explain this. If Congress refuses to raise what’s called the debt ceiling, America would not be able to meet all of our financial obligations for the first time in 225 years.
And because it’s called raising the debt ceiling, I think a lot of Americans think it’s raising our debt. It is not raising our debt. This does not add a dime to our debt. It simply says you pay for what Congress has already authorized America to purchase.”

But, of course, that is a lie. Raising the debt ceiling is allowing for more debt. While Obama and his fellow tax-and-spend fanatics maintain that raising the debt ceiling is no big deal, they have conspicuously refrained from offering any long-term solutions to manage the ever-climbing debt. Each time America revisits the debt ceiling argument, the Democrats propose a band aid and make no effort to cut spending. However, while Obama pretends that no other solution exists other than to raise the debt ceiling to allow for more debt, the fact remains that a very simple solution is glaringly obvious, but seldom spoken of in liberal circles- cut spending.”
Borrowing money is a necessary thing at times. However, we are $17 trillion in debt and until someone in the Democrat Party gets serious about creating a solution to runaway spending, our debt problem will only continue to increase.

Obama’s typical rhetoric is more of the same; it’s whining and griping with zero consideration for the very real problems America faces and zero new ideas for how to solve them. If President Obama wishes to be taken seriously as a leader, complaints and gripes are not enough.

Leaders do not blame. They take responsibility, lead and find answers to the problem. But then again barry is a gutless fraud.

Yes, of course Boehner reneging on the budget agreement back in July caries no blame, whatsoever.

Obamacare is an important, settled law, passed years ago, and Republicans only want to knife it because they're afraid of letting anything Barack Obama touches to succeed.

I don't know why you think you know so much about leadership. Leaders certainly can blame. It would be stupid to ignore causes and effects. President Obama needn't keep his mouth shut and it raises awareness of the Republican shenanigans, so they might have to answer for them.

In the defense of the repugnant party they have sent forth half a dozen or more compromise bills to end this thing (all include halting obozocare for a year) and Obozo himself rejects them therefore single handedly keeping the government shut.

Obozocare is NOT an settled law, it will be up for review and I hope it gets shut down. I did not want it and it was forced on me by people who have exempted themselves from and who will remain on the government program they voted for themselves that we pay 70% of.
