On Wednesday I received some very welcome news, my biopsy results showed no cancer! On Thursday a very dear friend lost his father. How do you balance being so grateful for your own good health & being devastated for a friend that you care for so much? Without coming off like an idiot?

that is pretty hard to deal with. here is my advice. don't tell your friend at least until after the funeral. let them deal with their loss and then give them your good news. it might take their mind off their loss for a little bit

Man, that is a hard one!!!! First off, im so happy to hear that you are free of Cancer. Im sure your friend would be happy for you and even if you are cheerful i dont think he would take offense to that. Maybe your cheerfulness will help him get through. Things happen for a reason. Just be there for him and he will appreciate it.

Wait a while. There's a time and place for everything.

Baby, feel blessed, but this should not be a topic of conversation for a while. There might be a time that resentment may come into play. For the sake of your friendship...
