Topic: McDonald's warns customers: "No Sagging" | |

If you plan to visit the Golden Arches, better bring a belt. One local McDonald's franchisee with 25 locations around Dallas is posting this warning in bold red-and-yellow: "No Sagging Allowed in This Restaurant." News 8 spotted the signs at four locations: Two along Lancaster Road; one at Camp Wisdom Road and Interstate 35; and another in Seagoville. McDonald's corporate headquarters declined to comment for this story. "We basically in the neighborhood, we were first,” said Loquita Record, who runs Record's Bar-B-Q in South Dallas. Hanging in the front door of her 60-year-old restaurant is a sign reading: "If Saggin’, No Service." She said the warning has been there for two years. Does it work? Do they have customers with sagging pants who come in and pull them up? "Yes, we do,” Record said. For the last six years, pulling up sagging pants has been a personal mission for Dallas City Council member Dwaine Caraway. He says Record's BBQ and McDonald's are part of trend of other restaurants in southern Dallas cracking down. Caraway said the policy, is simply good for business — and for hygiene. "You can let some money chase away the real money, the long-term money," he said. "And I'm sure McDonald's and other restaurants would rather sell a hundred hamburgers versus five." The local franchisee, Parish McDonald's, was not clear on when the signs were first posted, though they say they are not new. For her part, Record said she like the statement the signs make: Please, show some respect around here. Poll: Should restaurants refuse service to customers wearing sagging pants? 97% said yes, 3% said no. none of these? yes,nor these. My dad was a Grand Ole Opry entertainer and traveled with the troupe. I've actually met String, Minnie, Grandpa and most of the old country stars.... I was only a child, but I'm giving may age away for sure! My dad was the 1st to ever put Willie behind a mic. He was one of the stage hands at the time and cleaned up after the shows. He would sit in on the rehearsals and dad gave him a shot..... the rest is history. |

I think its an unattractive trend, much like excessive tattoos or piercings however, unlike the tats and piercings, it is a fashion choice that is easily altered in less than a minute I see it as reasonable as the no shirt no shoes no service signs Ive seen most my life no one wants to go eat and end up having to see peoples behinds or draws....lol |

Dallas seems to be a really uptight place; must be all those repressing protestant cults they call a religion. Repression is depression! They should all take the Monty Python altitude on Life and perhaps encourage patrons to 'de-pants'; sit yersevs down an' reelax'...lots o people, even females eat in their underwear at home, so why not in any place that serves food....hey, not as 'odd' as the 'au naturel' restaurants I've seen in the Crimea during summer or the Dalmation Coast...
