My understanding of dating is that two persons who are attracted to each other decide to spend time talking, having fun and so on to find out if they like each other enough to start a relationship; while relationship is a commitment made by the two persons that they are going to start a long term partnership to keep each other happy, through love, caring, etc. That's my opinion.

If a guy is in a relationship with a woman....but he is on dating sites 'looking for women to date'...
What is THAT called? Oh wait, I think it's called cheating. huh oops offtopic

It is also unfortunately really common these days it seems.

I suppose the thinking there is, 'if I'm not married, I'm single.'

A lot of people think that way. And many people have open relationships too. Where they don't mind if their partner goes out and goes online as long and they are honest and depending on what guidelines they have set for themselves.

I agree. Just throwing it out there. Two people that agree to be in an exclusive relationship, claim to be faithful to one another (i.e., not see other people) end up messing around on their partners anyway? Wtf is that? Call it an open relationship but at least the other person know that it is one. I see a lot of that B.S going on these days.

If the couple is not married or engaged to be married, they can not cheat on one another.

Not necessarily. If you have a verbal commitment to be monogamous and you break that, you're cheating.

I agree. I'm not married but I'm in a loving committed relationship and he would kill me if I dated other men. Vice versa.
