Ron, I have noticed the same thing....lol...I have no problems having a conversation with someone 2000 miles away, but, extreme difficulty even getting a response from someone 200 miles away. I think it has to do with #2...distance makes them feel safe and able to detach from the relationship. The ones who are close enough to go meet on the weekend are afraid to even commit to a hello

I have met some women from here for coffee and or lunch,and they were GREAT, and good people..

I have dated some women on here, both near and far, and THEY were great and loving, kind ladies...

NOW,,,you MAY NOT find a life LONG partner here,,,but a date, is VERY POSSIBLE......FACT,and I NEVER LIE....

It takes TRUST from them to feel your safe to meet with,,as there are alot of nuts in this world..lol
But, take time to try and talk and see if YOU BOTH can click
in a phone conversation, THEN, let THAT be a stepping stone to a live MEETING..

I HAVE 'never' MET ANYONE,,,EVER, THAT I DIDN'T TALK TO ON THE PHONE FIRST, AT LEAST 3 OR 4 TIMES,,MAYBE A BUNCH....CALLS??

King, good point even with a profile that is good advice. I just thought the reason for being on a dating site was to meet new people and see if you could find the right one.

While chatting will reveal a lot so will a nice safe coffee date in a public place.

Don't take it so personally or seriously! Date sites are the singles bars of the web! I hate real singles bars so I'd prefer hanging out reading what you fine people have to say!
Besides you don't need the initial alcohol buzz that one may require to approach someone at a real bar. Just be yourself, don't get impatient and have fun! They DO have more serious sites around, but that's kind of intimidating when there's no forum like this to help break the ice.

From what I have read, it seems that some people seem to have a lot of luck meeting (and dating) people on this site.
With time Ron, you will probably meet someone too, don't give up.

So was the flying car point being having expectation of a person place or thing and then finding out that it is not what you thought it would be.

Its ones own fault for having expectation in stead of just letting something be what it is.

To answer your question about do they want to date or not -- well, my experience would dictate a NO, but I'm aware of others who have met here, and who have entered into serious relationships, so -- I guess it all depends on the individual and their individual circumstances....

I too gave up on this site because as you and I both know the self entitled cliquish regime that think they own this site ruins it for so many. They chase so many new people to leave that might have been the one for somebody.

So this time I thought I would just circumvent them and deal with local women only and yet that plan has yet to come to tuition but we will see.
