I'd say its a bit mediocre, but I'll let you know if I have any results. Lol I'm giving it a try at least.... So far keep having trouble fighting off nothing but perves.... Guess we'll see how long I last.

I think if you want to find your Mr Right on a dating site, chances of meeting him at the forum are very slim. It's mostly a handful of ppl that are active here at the forum, meaning there's thousands of other Mingle members looking for/wanting that one partner.
A lot of the active ppl here at the forum are simply having fun, a number have already found their partner. So if you want to find him, search the site and invest time in a really good profile text. however those same people have just as many offline clones as well which most fail to mention or seem to forget. It is not like you walk into a bookstore and every man and woman is wearing a sign that tells you whether to avoid them or not.
It is somewhat easier in RL though. You have body-language, facial expression, intonation and the setting, which all can tell a lot. Your instinct can help you out. In RL everyone makes a selection on daily basis of ppl to smile to, talk with etc and ppl you instinctively dislike, avoid and ppl you don't even notice. Happens in supermarket, pub, in the street etc. Online all you got is typed words and that's it. So you can't really select the way we normally do. Meaning here you can get in touch with ppl you would never ever get in touch with in RL. Can be a plus, but also a risk. |
