It seems charity is no longer acceptable in some parts of the USA! How insane will we allow the laws, or enforcement of them, to become before we say enough is enough?!
Feeding Homeless Apparently Illegal in Raleigh, NC This morning we showed up at Moore Square at 9:00 a.m., just like we have done virtually every Saturday and Sunday for the last six years. We provide, without cost or obligation, hot coffee and a breakfast sandwich to anyone who wants one. We keep this promise to our community in cooperation with five different large suburban churches that help us with manpower and funding. Today officers from Raleigh Police Department prevented us from doing our work, for the first time ever. I recently asked a friend's little girl what she wanted to be when she grows up. She said she wanted to be President of the United States. Both of her parents, liberal Democrats, were standing there. So, I asked her, "If you were President, what would by the first thing you would do?" She replied, "I'd give food and houses to all the homeless people." Her parents beamed. "Wow...what a worthy goal," I told her. "But you don't have to wait until you're President to do that. You can come over to my house and mow the lawn, pull weeds, and sweep my driveway and I'll pay you $50. Then, I'll take you over to the grocery store where the homeless guy hangs out and you can give him the $50 to use toward food and a new house." She thought that over for a few seconds, then she looked me straight in the eye and asked, "Why doesn't the homeless guy come over and do the work, and you can just pay him the $50?" I said, "Welcome to the Republican Party." Her parents still aren't speaking to me. |

and others have asked them to do that too,,,,lol the better question for the girl would be 1. Why should I accept 50 bucks for a job worth more than that? and 2. 'why don't you provide the HOMELESS guy the offer to make some money, but pay him for what the work is WORTH instead of just what you can get away with? |

Filling out forms, calling on my free phone, packing home my free groceries, calling when my check is late, waiting in line for my free medical, lying about how many jobs I looked for, and having babies to keep it going. (I do not condemn those with actual need for these services, but charities, NOT the gov't, once handled that quite well before the gov't decided it hated competition for access to the peoples money and ended or tied the hands of charities thru regulation!) They did that in San Diego Ca, a long time ago and people were arrested for refusing to stop, San Diego thought it was not motivating homeless people to better themselves, rather than congregating at their parks all day waiting for free hand outs. It's sad, we do it Santa Ana at city hall and it's approved and it's once a month.
I'm tired of all the people shooting and killing homeless people for the thrill of it. What a bunch of boosies. |

I accept no welfare, or assistance of any kind, and by all standards qualify for welfare and all the freebies, but I'm not a thief, nor do I believe others owe me a living! Everything works against me, age, health, education, ability and agility, but I still live and breathe and I'm not beholden to anyone for my existence. I don't use banks or credit, never seek what I can't plan and work to attain. I live within my means, and though I may live a meager existence, all that I have I have earned, built or bartered for. Welfare is a crutch for the lazy no matter how you try to justify it, unless you are actually incapable due to handicap or age to fend for yourself! People with kids should bear that responsibility even more so! Their lack of creativity or drive should not be a burden that is mandated to others! The system is broken, it enables, it is fraught with fraud and graft, a drain on society, and it does little to actually help! It creates victims, not resources! |
