Date Night Amber pours, filling a clear glass from its honey lit home. Dripping,sweet,sentiment unearths buried neglect. Hanging, needy, clingy sucking out each others words. He said she doesn’t handle her liquor well. He who’s body spills out uncontrollably, spewing its dignity in expletives not repeatable. “Sloppy” she says. “Maudlin” he slurs to rise above the deepening sludge. “You just don’t handle your liquor well.“ SadieLu©2013
