Okayish: I find the phrase "If you want to know, just ask" an awful platitude. You gotta get someone interested in you first. It's like marketing and / or shopping: You're likely to skip a shop where you gotta ask to see something and go to the shop next-door that's got everything out there on display, including details and price. If I then still want to know more, I will ask. Cos I'm already interested.

For me it works the same on a dating-site. I always quickly skip profiles that state "just ask". If you can't be bothered to get me interested, I can't be bothered to spend my time trying to find out.

I don't think you will have any trouble finding someone and you should probably focus on things you like to do. Find someone who shares your interest.
