A 17 year old can kill too.

A teenager who is accused of killing his cousin Thursday night has been charged by police with criminal homicide, said Dauphin County District Attorney Ed Marsico.

Sean Broden Jr., 17, is accused of killing Stevie R. Everson, his 25-year-old cousin, after the two engaged in a fight inside a residence in the 400 block of South 25th Street.

Everson died of a single stab wound to the groin area, which was confirmed by an autopsy Friday morning, said Dauphin County Coroner Graham Hetrick.

Broden was brought to police Friday afternoon by his family and attorney and placed into custody, according to police.

Police were called to the home Thursday at approximately 5:20 p.m. They found Everson’s body after his grandfather called 911. Broden had fled the home after the fight.

City police said Everson fell or slipped and seemed out of breath. He rested on the floor adjacent to the kitchen, but soon it became apparent that he was in distress.

After calling 911, the grandfather performed CPR, but was unsuccessful in reviving him, police said.

Broden returned to the home and was interviewed by police detectives. He said that he and Everson simply fought and he didn't have any idea why Everson collapsed.

The autopsy confirmed Everson’s death was a homicide. It is the city’s 10th confirmed homicide of 2013.

The stab wound opened a key artery, causing Everson to bleed out quickly, Hetrick said. Police said in a news release that the wound was internal and there was no external bleeding.

florda teens tried as adults

---------------------------------------------------------------3 Ways to Try Juveniles as Adults

There are three common ways in which to transfer a case from juvenile court to the adult system and try the juvenile as an adult. These are:

Judicial Waiver - some states give juvenile court judges the power to have a juvenile's case tried in adult criminal court
Direct File - sometimes called "Prosecutorial Discretion" - some states give prosecutors the power to decide whether or not a juvenile will be tried as an adult
Statutory Exclusion - some states have laws that require a youth's case to be tried in adult court - these laws usually base this automatic transfer on the youth's age, the seriousness or type of crime, and the juvenile's prior record
Reverse Waiver – In a few cases, such as murder or rape, the assumption is that a juvenile should be tried as an adult unless the trial court rules that the case should be sent to juvenile court.
Once An Adult, Always An Adult - In some states, if a juvenile is tried once as an adult, than the juvenile will be tried as an adult in all subsequent cases.
