Where is a good place to start looking? Please don't tell me bars, those are nothing more than meat markets and I don't want a one night thing...

Are you looking for a car? A house?

The best place to start looking for people is outside your front door....unless you live in an isolated situation, there must be people that cross your path daily...all it takes, is for people to start 'seeing' each other, I mean really noticing the human being in front of you, and your world opens up, a smile, a quick chat in the queues at the supermarket, the petrol station, anywhere, opens up your world.

Get in the threads, let yourself be known.
Be a gentleman, show your views with manners.
Lots of REALLY nice ladies of all ages here.
Treating them as ladies, goes far.
Read the thread for newbies is also a good idea.

Thank you, but I am not a newbie here. I have been on jsh for a while. It's just that I am ready to go back out into the "real" world and make some new contacts out there. LOL sounds like I am in outer space. Anyway, I am just kinda shy after what my ex did, I have a fear of the emotional pain that women can create. I know not all or not even most are like that. I just don't want that kind of pain again. I will not dip into the honey where I make my money so thats out. Even though there are over 1,500 ppl that work there LOL. NO. As for being a gentleman, no I will be me. If I have to act like something I am not then that would be starting a relationship on a lie, not willing to do that. Now please don't take that the wrong way either, I am a very nice/polite guy, I open doors I bring flowers I am what my grandmother calls a traditional romantic. I just don't kiss butt if you know what I mean. I feel if I show who I am and that is good enough then good, if not then too bad, sorry thats all I am. Does this sound wrong?

Years ago I had a boss who said, "Never get your p____ where you get your paycheck. Good piece of advice. If you live in a small, conservative city like I do, all I can think of in the form of advice is this: move somewhere else!

Hers is an idea. Try Wal-mart. America gets everything else there. Why can't we get oour friends, girlfriends, significant other, even life partner (yeah, it's a stretch) at the place where prices are always falling? It is cool in the summer, warm in the winter, and they even have a place to take someone out to eat without leaving the secure-feeling 24-hour "I can't sleep" oasis. The women's clothing section provides some of the most quarry. If you try to talk to them in the food section, they might be worried about food spoiliage in the cart. A woman in the automotive section is probably actually looking for YOU! Get in there and volunteer your "automotive knowledge" to help her find what she wants (; . If all else fails, beat some little kid at air-hockey to boost morale and confidence, then try again.

Anything good takes time, patience is a virtue & needs to be practiced.

Ever need some moral support, write an old sage.

Will shar stories & out comes, chance to learn from someone else's mistakes.

No Wal-mart!!!!? Australia just beat-out Malta for the #2 spot on my "Where would I like to go for vacation" list. I am impressed to know that people can live without a wal-mart within 50 miles. I want that life. Things would be so much simpler. besides that, the mailbox wouldn't be polluted with their sales ads every other day.

Ever see the seagulls fighting over a scrap of food on the beach? That's what some women around here do, when we get 'junk mail' brochures...ridiculous, cause the nearest shopping centres are 100 mile away..laugh laugh laugh
