It seems a bit far-fetched that a captain would go to those lengths just to have passengers dead. It would mean putting HIMSELF through all that trauma, along with them. The ship crashed into a rock. Remember when the Titanic was hit by an Iceberg? That's why it sank. So the likelyhood of it happening again was always 50/50. When cruise ships crash into something, they sink. I think the captain was educated enough to know how to avoid accident's while steering a ship. But still, let's all blame the captain because it looks controversial, and gets on the news. It's all a bit dramatic if you ask me.
