So, anyway. Thats about it. ... I'm really really desperately looking to make a connection with someone from that general area in the Netherlands and Northern Europe because Im moving there, and would much rather have a pen pall until then and a friend when I get there.

It wasn't meant to be offensive but if you live in America then you can't deny that in general, our education system is way behind the rest of the world, and yes, go look for yourself, most Americans are ignorant. Not ALL. just most. Thats why the rest of the world laughs at us and thinks we're all stupid. Because most of us are.... not our fault, its the government and their slicing education funds every chance they get.

If you're not American than get the hell out!

I think all people are ignorant in areas where they have little experience,,,,

but educationally, we are falling behind, focusing more and more on social and political education than on the education of reading/writing/arithmetic that leading countries focus on,,,,

I am a Canadian born and bred and I took offense to the above statement! I totally GET what you're trying to say - I just think you could have chosen your words a lot better for not being a "typically ignorant" person from any country! We will find throughout the world both ends of the spectrum in terms of intelligence and ignorance as well as any two opposites. Stereotyping any nationality or country or people of any kind is negative and causes more harm than good.
And "this disgusting country" - well wow! That sure says a lot! And I'm not even sure how to respond to that! The lol doesn't take away those strong words!

Suggestion: Different wording would have highlighted you in a much more positive light. Omitting that entire sentence and perhaps talking about how excited you are to be moving to Northern Europe and hoping to hook up with a friend once you get there!

I understand what you're saying and I already apologized for my use of words but, as an american, we have a horrible reuptation around the world as being stupid. because a lot of us are. its just a fact. not everyone! just a lot. thats why when we travel outside the country we have to say we're canadian rather than american because otherwise we get ****ed with.... so i understand where you're coming from, and once again i apologize for those use of words, but i'd think lesbians living in america or in your case canada can easily understand where i'm coming from. we have a horrible education system and the fact is, most americans couldn't even find friggin canada on the map. lol

holy ****ing **** people chill out. i didn't say ALL americans are stupid. people ALL AROUND THE WORLD are stupid.
but compared to the rest of the world, we are pretty low on the totem poll.
the point of this post was not to make people freak out about my choice of words for saying that MOST AMERICANS ARE IGNORANT, BECAUSE MOST ARE. NOT ALL. JUST MOST.
so get the **** over it and give me a chance to find someone thats interested in talking to a non-ignorant american.
