A friend of mine just started dating a guy who says the most romantic things to her...constantly, it seems. I know this because she burns up my cell battery telling me every romantic thing he says and every romantic gesture he makes. tongue2

My question to you IS...do you like the ooey gooey love talk or could you live without it? spock

Is there such a thing as too much, and how much is too much? whoa

Hmmm, I would think the cut-off point might be
when it is all talk and no action.

I wonder if the guy knows that your friend is gossiping about their conversations.

Some conversations are supposed to be between two people only.

Maybe so, but since he says romantic things to her in front of me too, it's not as if it's going to embarrass him if she tells me a few others. Besides, we're not talking about pillow talk here. shocked

I would love to be in a great relationship with a guy who would say romantic things to me a lot. smitten

I agree. I dated a guy who was full of pretty little comments. If someone has a talent for it, it's absolutely dreamy! love

that can be cool, little pet name, your own lngo
I love being playful, thats a big part of the bonding,
Been silly & making each other laugh, & if she wants
too be quite then thats too bad the entertainments free
and there's no off button  I'll keep going til
she..... gets pissed...or shows me something.
but I only do that oncewhoa
Sounds like a really bad deal for you!
Your single and she's on clowd 9, I'm sure your happy for your
friend but there's got to be a little left out envy..I think I would feel
it.
Then for argument sakes, say it crumbles tomorrow
And you think she's roughing up your battery now! Guess again.

Cus castles made of sand slip in to the sea......eeeeventual
Maybee off topic a bit....some food for thought
peace

I do things other than talk sweet. I write her poems, bring flowers and chocolate dipped strawberries, etc.

Just because I'm not in a relationship, doesn't mean I don't have someone saying sweet things to me too. spock

My friend is always dating someone and I'm never dating anyone, so I'm used to it by now. laugh Personally I wouldn't care for the constant merry-go-round of serial dating. noway

But yes, seeing her happy in a romantic relationship CAN sharpen the edge on my desire to be a couple too, but so does watching the my cute little elderly neighbors on the porch swing together. I wouldn't consider that jealousy, just being reminded of my own desire for love. We all want to be loved.

Chocolate dipped strawberries? This must not be in your profile or you'd be busy dipping strawberries right now. laugh

The difference between a men and women . . .

Woman: "My new boyfriend is so romantic. Last night, he said blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah . . ."

Versus

Man: "I have a new girlfriend."
Other Man: "Is she easy on the eyes?"
Man: "Yep."
Other Man: "Enough said."
Man: "Changing the subject . . ."
