If I know them, before having sex with them, then I can get excited about doing the deed with them. I can't look at just anyone and think I'd be okay sleeping with them. I trust my instinct

Well, it might not take you long to decide that you want to sleep together, or you're getting on really well with them and think, "Why not?" I suppose that if you're a guy you're supposed to pursue women and if you don't, you're not getting any. Either that or wait for them to throw themselves at you. I don't know. I like the getting to know each other thing first as well but if you don't do the flirting and trying to chat them up stuff there's zero chemistry.

Isn't always about having raging hormones. You get yourself into a situation and then you have a choice. You can just meet somebody, or even chat with them on the internet and you're maybe not expecting anything to happen and it does. Then you can either brush them off, say no thanks, or go for it. There's a certain amount of male pride involved. Being the cool guy that gets the women and so on. Having a life and not being a sad loser. I know a dude that hasn't been with a woman in ten years and that was just with a prostitute. Volentary celibacy is a choice. Maybe you choose not to because of "principles", or because it doesn't feel right, or whatever but it's still a choice that you make as a responsible adult if you do decide to do it and not just a simple matter of hormones.
