This space weather reporter is urging Nasa to keep an eye on Ison as it disappears behind the sun because it will be traveling through the Asteroid belt and if it hits anything or picks ups something, its path could be altered.

I think they should but if it did change or pick anythink up there aint much they can do! But not trying to be a pessermis like living but if anythink happens it happens ! Think they should work on planetary defences incase in futur there is a chance all they need to do is harness the sun through a lazer saturlite ac a object to heat it up to move the direction by parts heating up and breaking off!

I think you should get right on that project.

I think NASA should start launching their own rockets and stop freeloading off the Russians.
Those lazy soabs!

And what would you propose they do other than what they are doing now if the path is altered?

I think it is going to be relatively uneventful similar to what I read the one in the 70's was, but if not we might get a decent show as it grazes the sun.

I have no opinion on that. It would just be nice to know if it or some asteroid was headed towards earth or mars.

Also...How much reading did you even do on Ison? And I'm not talking about watching a video on the "Other side" of Youtube, I mean actually reading the things that NASA has recorded among a number of other astronomers.

They've been following this thing longer than you have even known it exists, I'd be willing to bet by an awful lot as well.

Sure, but Nasa could aim a satellite at it when it disapears behind the sun, like they did to Comet Elenin which was not as big and spectacular as they claim Ison is supposed to be. But so far, they have not announced any plans to do that according to my sources.

Everyone of these has the potential to put on a show, but if it grazes off the wrong angle we won't see anything...However, if any of it came near the Earth our atmosphere would shrivel it up until it was nothing more than a stone dropping on the road.

The one that occurred in the 70's was said to be the same, everyone expected a show but it didn't hit at the right angle or something and you couldn't see anything of it.
