Ever respond to something then find out it's actually old news?

I had to do a quick shuttle on this trip of mind that I am on in the middle of the night. I get on the little plane and sit down next to Bobby Z's niece or sister or cousin, anyway very pretty girl. We're talking about Bobby and Prince and traveling. While in the air everyone was using their computer type thingies so I borrow a guys and did a quick check up on Bobby so I don't look stupid. I met Bobby years ago but have no idea anything new. So here I am in the middle of the night sitting beside this gal, trying to hide the screen from her while I check this out. Well what do I pull up on line but an article talking about that he is in the hospital after just having a heart attach. She must not know yet cause she's very calm and chatting away. So as I'm reading his I'm thinking Oh no, I have to break this news somehow. I'm freaked, it's a little private plane and I'm talking to one of her friends really quiet so his niece doesn't over hear me. I'm saying I don't think she knows. Well the girl I was telling started laughing at me and shows me the date on the article being 2011. The gig didn't take long and when we got back on the return this morning (just a little bit ago) she asked me if I was ok cause I acted pretty strange I guess. Anyway I'm still kinda weirded out and very tired lol. What a night!

Do you guys ever get false facts then totally over react only to find out all is fine?

I don't over react even to "true" facts.

The most efficient way to handle any crisis is to first accept it.
Then respond (not react).

Deal with a problem only when it presents itself.

my Mother was talking to my friends mom and mentioned that my cousin's fiance's plane had crashed
flying out of a logging camp killing all 5 or 6 aboard, I had never met the guy.
the story a got from my friend, was, my cousin was killed in a plane crash and to phone my parents
so I definitely failed the cool test as well.

My friend felt awful, turned out that her boyfriend was only doing one more shift in camp, as he was
Setting himself up in town with an Excavating business and a wife.

I'm in the same industry and you just cant control your environment when it comes to float planes
and Helicopters, other than exercising your right to refuse. Last time I was in a Beaver the back of the floats were a foot under water. sketchy. .lol

Wow, I can't do if-y plane rides.

I hate it, there's been I few heli pilots I've just refuse to fly with.

Was in the Rockies by the border one year doing mountain pine beatle control
and the pilot was flying the helicopter very high that day and I said that I dont like
to fly so high, his response was "I don't like it either, it not really my thing"...lol.
That just doesn't instil a lot of confidence. .lol

around to see who had it.

Only to find out she had died a year earlier.
For ones self, it happens in that moment.
I cried a while, for her, and for me.

Yes sir I have dropped the ball several times I had to swallow the fountain of misinformation and took the strange looks feeling like a fool!At work recently I applied for a position that was posted and filled a month earlier. I misread the date come into work on my day off approached my boss telling her how much I wanted the position only to hear her say the person is working next to you it has been filled for the last month.Needless to say the boss is very impressed with me Lol!
