Okay, I'll take a stab. I think it means that when we attempt a good deed, we end up doing what feels emotionally correct and not necessarily what IS rationally good.

I dont think its an absolute

I think its more accurate to say

'evil hides easiest behind good intentions that are not tempered with wisdom'
