Did it ever occur to anyone that the gun laws have been implemented in an effort to limit violence in a city with a long history of it? If so, how can the efficiency of the legislation be determined? To claim the city still has gun violence, therefore gun control doesn't work is somewhat partisan to say the least. Indeed the NRA's propaganda on Chicago is a perfect example of a 'false equivalence'. Well it that were true, then what have we learned? We have learned that their 'efforts' failed and that gun control only made it worse. The city not only still has gun violence, Chicago has more gun violence than all other cities. Facts are facts. Gun control and the police state situation in Chicago DOES NOT LIMIT AND HAS NO LIMITED GUN VIOLENCE. Chicago has a history of violence, yes. Did gun control solve the problem? NO. |

If you want to kill someone,or commit a Crime, you'll find a Weapon!
The killing of that Soldier in London proves that! The Criminals in Chi-Town have never given a Rat's Arse about Weapons-Laws! The only ones abiding by Laws are the lawabiding Citizens, who in the long run are getting the crappy end of the Stick! Guncontrol-Laws are good for one thing! To make the Politician feel good and pretending he is doing something for the People, when in reality he is putting the lives of lawabiding Citizens in danger! |

Missed the point, huh? No I didn't miss your point. I ignored it. You first assume that the laws were implemented "in an effort to limit violence in a city with a long history of it." That of course was the battle cry of the politicians. It is more likely that the police were tired of being out gunned by the citizens or "criminals." But can anyone be certain that the police are not corrupt an on the take, therefore criminals themselves? No. The efficiency of the legislation is determined by the failure to solve the problem. The conclusion is that Gun legislation may not have made the problem worse, but neither did it solve the problem. It appears to have had little if any effect. |

So, in effect, that response indicates that the concept went over your head, got it. I'd elaborate further, but I'm not that interested. |

Ever wonder what cities like D.C, Chicago, LA, Detroit, Philadelphia all have in common? Gun violence is off the charts in these places whereas states like Arizona for example have lower violent crime rates (excluding the drug cartels and their runners) than these cities and Arizona you can carry open or concealed without needing a stupid permit.

Maybe its the police who are doing the shooting in these cities. |
